Gippsland Regional Growth Areas are governed by the Wellington Shire Council, Baw Baw Shire Council, Latrobe City Council, East Gippsland Shire Council, South Gippsland Shire Council and Bass Coast Shire Council.

Some of the key growth town-centres include Morwell, Moe, Traralgon, Warragul, Drouin, San Remo, Cowes, Inverloch, Newborough, Trafalgar, Longwarry etc.
